Father's Day
As you gaze in awe at your precious new son
As you sit helpless through the night
As you kiss away his tears
As your heart overflows with pride and joy
Remember there once was another young man who felt the same too
Each moment on the sidelines to cheer him on
Each victory and each sorrow, you share
Each night filled with worry
Each day filled with joy
Enjoy each special moment between a father and his son
As you stand proud at his side
When he says “I do”,
When you have done all that you can
And your heart breaks,’ cause he says you’re no good
Remember that other man too
Cause he is your father
And it’s his father’s day too.
