Father Yet Closer

Take off your mortgage and remove your career,
stop polishing your act.
Stop taking stock,
stop the clocks
and open the locks.

Let me in
let me in,
let me in
let me in.

And let me begin where you end,
let the footsteps fall,
a path to amend,
and you,
friend.
