Father Time
Father, here I am again at Thy feet,
Asking for some bread to eat.
Perhaps I’ve had more tricks than treats.
May Thou feed me some nourishing words,
Of something bitter sweet.
Maybe while we talk, I can wash Thy feet.
Right now, I am in great need,
And need someone to talk to, can it be Thee?
I want to thank Thee for making things right,
For being strong for me, when I can’t fight.
And now, Thou art with me here tonight.
Surely, Thou hast heard and felt all my prayers,
And surely Thou dost tenderly care.
I know I can make it back to where Thou art,
By following Thy Son, my true north star.
I will stand facing Thee in confidence, at Thy bar.
Right now, I feel so very far away,
From where I need and want to be,
But I feel Thy love and mercy,
As Thou draws me close to Thee.
My dear child, I’ve received thy suffered agonies and pain,
And endured, refining sacramental refrain.
Thy pleas and sacrifices have established and rewarded thee,
With a new sanctified crowning ceremony, gracing thee in resplendent royalty,
With a diadem created of new emeralds, made from all the hallowed jewels, in glory.
This is thy eternal majesty, made to recognize thy testimony.
Father, take my heart, and heal it I plea,
And as Thou does this, I will gladly follow Thee.
Without a doubt, I know Thee inside and out.
It’s Father time again, just me and Thee.
