Family Vacation
It was the best of times
It was the worst of times
It was two extremes
But both were mine
It was peace, on lease
A bitter, sweet time
It was, incredible waves
Explosions on shore
Golden sun rays
Preceding downpours
Amazing views, sunset hues
An experience, worth outrageous dues
But all this fun, was sure to bruise
Bliss dried up, after a day or two
The rain was persistent
Not frequently lifted
It was morbidly mad
The forecast had missed it
A scattered shower
A bit of a drizzle
To last for an hour
Then rapidly fizzle
Soggy from false predictions
Delirious from lack of sleep
We, all were feeling the tension
Though none of us made a peep
But as I said before
There was good to balance the bad
We found marvelous shells, galore
And the sights we saw, were rad
This will be an adventure, remembered
Our children will tell the tale
Although we drowned 3 thousand bucks
We sure did raise some Hell
