FAMILY SECRET

Imagine for a moment being told you have a brother
For years I thought I was the only child
The family already knew while
No one had the decency to tell me
My Grand Mother was at her death bed, and wanted to clear her conscious and state, I have an older brother
Years too late
You can imagine how I felt
I was now in dealt
I was ready to pack my bags and move to Los Angeles
For my Grand Mother to hold the truth about my life would be more than anybody to bare
Family members were telling secrets of my brother, but that doesn’t make right for years of secrecy
I felt like a lonely sheep with no life
I was totally omitted
My brother was put up for adoption because my mother was incapable in raising
The same scenario almost happened to me when I was born as it was suggested by the hospital that I be put up for adoption
However, my Grandparents didn’t want to see another Grandson go to another home not theirs
They raised me themselves
My brother and I never met
That is my regret
God felt it wasn’t in my interest being his reasoning and purpose
As my life was already planned out and fulfillment in a different direction
I was mad then, but let go and live out my life assured
From past to present to forward onward.
