FALLING LEAVES, FALLING LIVES

I watch intently
the leaves falling
and though it may
sound nonsensical,
I grieve a bit for
every dying leaf
but more I grieve 
for those I knew
who left this long
and beautiful and
sad dream we so
naively call 'life'....
