Fall On Me

Leaves have fallen upon the ground As a cracking sound under thy feet Yellow, orange and brown Getting ready for the burn pile While naked limbs appear Rain and wind blowing them down Large black bags await Gathering for Halloween Then snow gathers upon branches Bringing slipping roads Cars without chains await a tow Fall is just the start of a winter snow A time I wish to be forgotten Waiting for the sun to brighten Now dark that time has time forgotten Asleep at six instead of eight Wanting and waiting for, The Suns brightening my days Contest: Still-Life Autumn Scene Sponsored by: Eve Roper Date Created: 12/09/2022

Congratulations on your win. Your "Fall on Me" is a wonderful write. I remember doing over 100 large black bags of pretty leaves. (Each Year) Blessed/Healthy/Great New Year 2023............
