Fall

"FALL"

I wrap
my Autumn world
around you

Calliope turning
raising the
season’s poetry,

I am she
returning

dancing
with Summer’s
dying leaves

Twirling you up into
my warm golden brown
symphony

hear me sing,
whispering notes,
holding keys

towards you
you're approachable
reaching out for something

listening, sensing
footsteps rustling
through the leaves

burnished and free
from tangled constricting branches
the past letting loose its memories

invisible
my figure
forms before your eyes, slowly

adorned in nothing
but glistening
golden Klimt leaves

skin luminescent
I shine it
all around

naked, lit
crushed soft veined
and velvet

I
cover you
in me

fall
you into me,
like a beating heart blanket

my stories
now
seeding

earthed,
you
breathe me in

entranced,
see me
falling

hear me
falling
in my season

The last chance
Ghost of Autumn
returning

to feed you
the milk
from her silky stories

je la bois dans
J'enfouis mon visage dans l'or
et le cramoisi de son évanescence

attaché
à son sein chaud,
elle est toujours
en sécurité et réconfortante

haunting,

all hallows smile
when in front of them,
I am forming

the veil is thin
torn from what
grows without within

that which
was
unfairly stolen

Winter’s dream calls me
soft as white angel feathers
falling from wings

turns swiftly twisting
sharp and piercing
as a sword

the impending
farewell
the outcome missing

you are falling
captured by me
in my fall, you are lulled

gold, copper and scarlet
sweet wanton warning
a small death, rapturous, calling

Autumn becomes you
hypnotic illusions
in the turning returning

the price recompense
the expense called in
sweet wanton warning

fall
you into me
like a beating heart blanket

I cover your fears for a while
in me like a beating heart blanket
you are sweetly suspended in my season

my breezy thanks giving
traces your supplicant lips
writing words into your mind

I am commanding
you, I caress your airy tendrils
like forgotten notes thinly courting

we are marking
metronomes
lost time

with my phantom fingertips
I write words on your lips
you are spellbound

beware beware

I am spilling over you
warm and sweet
taste my maple syrup

I am the hunter of seasons
trapping your lost
sticky secrets

hushed and hard
against all your pliant stories,
within them you live

without,
you are lost
and feverish

I am anticipation
in the revenant
Autumn, le dans revenant

you are mulled,
intoxicated
by my scent

I smell of sandalwood,
pine needles, bonfires,
nutmeg and cinnamon

you are all mine
wrapped up in all
the falling

leaves of my stories
pages of history depleting
photos torn, life's jagged edges

sepia, the colour
of aged chivas regal, medicinal
addictive, tasted, taken in

you are
my moment of truth
before the other one arrives

you are
my
fait au compli

we ignore
the harsh truth
of what’s already known

that which has been
and will become again
at the back of our mind

but it is forgotten
for a short while
in the illustrious golden fall

in the crackling warm laugh
of my coming home,
you are beguiled by it all

you forget
the other story
like a prophecy, forewarning

the one with cold heart
she is ever watching
on the march

fast approaching
you
in this dream

in her cold dreams
she is called
Winter

behind her frosty windows
barefoot stories of blue highways
and cross roads, already written

Autumn, She
warms you
you're taken, you're bitten

spiders and bugs scurry
for shelter, they watch and
they listen

but in your heart you hear
the bitter sweet sadness
that mistletoe Christmas

of Winter’s cold dream
reigning you in across the
house of cards table

blizzard of life

dissolves childish schemes
murders of crows
drink from your tears

what is lost
is unseen
to true to be believed

all your Season's
falling, she is
crumbling crushing leaves

all your
golden stories
falling,

Autumn's stalling
embracing
sad victory

kissing
under what's green
Forgotten's fire cold kiss

passionate
command
inviolate tryst

Love and Time
on spec,
never late

Winter is calling
to claim you, 'tis
destiny not fate

"You just slowly will fall
Louder than bombs
Loud as a bomb
You just open your arms
loud as a bomb
as loud as a bomb

I was left adrift
In the shadowless
Sun was going down
Till there’s nothing left
You were running wild
You could scratch the sky
I was on the edge
you were born to fly
Love is blind
Love is cracked..."

I grew up where there were no seasons - just 12 hours of light and heat pretty consistently so i wanted seasons but found i do get depressed when the days get shorter and i start feeling the cold then i slowly adjust. Each season has its beauty but i do love the long days best :)

Of all the seasons, I love Winter the best, I am quite partial to Autumn as well. I love swimming in the Ocean - but I am not a Summer person, nor Spring. It has always been Winter when I feel most alive and there is some irony in that, when you consider how a woman (and a man) perceived as past their prime, assign a seasonal value to their lives. Winter is the approaching end Season, but I feel most alive in Winter. I think you are probably a Summer person, with all that sailing. xx
