FAITH IN GOD WHO REBUKES US OF OUR VANITY
God rebukes us of our vanity through His Word
Since we speak lies of futility against truth-record…
We must repent with faith, submitting to Him Who is our Lord
Toward victory in cleaving to the Spirit’s sword.
God rebukes us of our vanity through His Scriptural assurance
Since we hide in our pride along hypocrisy’s endurance…
We must confess our sins with faith, acknowledging our ignorance
Toward peace in learning from His statutes midst perseverance.
God rebukes us of our vanity through His lawfulness
Since we turn against Him because of our haughtiness…
We must humble before Him with faith, trusting His greatness
Toward freedom from arrogance and self-righteousness.
God rebukes us of our vanity through His Biblical inquiry
Since we doubt His precepts, never saying we are sorry…
We must follow Him with faith, recognizing His divine territory
Toward increase in our spirituality while declaring the Gospel story.
God rebukes us of our vanity through His wondrous circumstances
Since we deceive ourselves in considering worldly instances…
We must regard His ways with faith, being aware of Christian practices
Toward blessings that bring us far from unnecessary curses.
God rebukes us of our vanity through His working
Since we disobey Him when His kingdom we are not seeking…
We must prioritize Him with faith, thanking His miracle-making
Toward triumph as to Jesus Christ we are looking.
God rebukes us of our vanity through His grace
Since we displease Him in our delays…
We must serve Him with faith, giving Him honour and praise
Toward exaltation of His name all through the days.
