God is our very present help in trouble, giving salvation joy with His grace
Such upholds our secured redemption-brace
While we face various challenges along life’s race
For us to walk by faith, obeying Him for His awesome ways.
God is our very present help in trouble, sanctifying us with His holiness
Such arms our posture of righteousness
While we battle against many facets of worldliness
For us to do good works by faith in His will’s truthfulness.
God is our very present help in trouble, aiding us during calamities
Such secures our souls from doubts’ infirmities
While we conquer several stages of difficulties
For us to trust by faith His unfailing promises’ certainties.
God is our very present help in trouble, guarding us against deceptions
Such intensifies our standard-convictions
While we flee from different angles of temptations
For us to follow by faith His instructions of effective success-directions.
God is our very present help in trouble, pulling us from carnal extravagance
Such corrects our human-ignorance
While we subdue pride of towering arrogance
For us to stay humble by faith under His great deliverance.
God is our very present help in trouble, strengthening us in times of trials
Such proves our Scriptural self-denials
While we pass through tough hardships along foes’ betrayals
For us to reach service-triumph’s peak by faith through His miracle-portrayals.
God is our very present help in trouble, enabling us to proclaim Gospel story
Such powers our labour-victory
WhiIe we do His will for His glory
For us to win souls by faith perishing from hell’s fury.
