FAITH IN GOD WHO COMFORTS US
God comforts us midst tempting worldliness
Toward heavenly pursuits upon salvation-joyfulness
For advancement of God’s kingdom and His righteousness
With our faith’s precious worthiness.
God comforts us midst frustrating vanity
Toward meaningful vocation upon restoration-dignity
For participation in life-building’s aim and activity
With our faith’s bright freedom of grand eternity.
God comforts us midst afflicting discontentment
Toward glad satisfaction upon provision-endowment
For investment in the great commission’s work and fulfillment
With our faith’s strengthened spirituality and dedicated involvement.
God comforts us midst oppressing transgression’s reaction
Toward holy goal upon transformation-perfection
For realization of Christianity’s direction and instruction
With our faith’s fruitful sanctification of effective function.
God comforts us midst attacking fright
Toward courageous testimony upon supplication-might
For fervency in prayer’s entreaty and plight
With our faith’s confident security along peaceful delight.
God comforts us midst towering arrogance
Toward humble surrender upon submission-temperance
For empowerment in service of joyful endurance
With our faith’s biblical wisdom upon diligent performance.
God comforts us midst discouraging solitude
Toward faithful stewardship of revival-fortitude
For commitment in church progress’ latitude and magnitude
With our faith’s worshipful stewardship of praise-filled gratitude.
