Notes About The Poem

Faith

I looked to the sky hoping to find the face of God up in the billowed clouds I dived in the sea thinking to discover Him there in coral beauty I searched all the earth - deserts, meadows, forests and the white tops of mountains I watched a sunrise till at last it dawned on me as sun poured down golden I had been seeking what was there in my plain sight now I had found my faith Form is SPLIT HAIKU

I've never seen this form before; it looks like you add a one-syllable word in between lines 2 and 3 of a normal haiku - interesting! I like your pun on "I watched a sunrise / till at last it dawned on me", very clever! Also you message of how the splendor of nature can lead us to God. Very nice!

Hi Andrea, congratulations on your win in the contest. A wonderful set of Haiku on your search for God. Each Haiku leading into the next and a most excellent final Haiku to an excellent write. Funny thing about Faith, i looked for it for so many years and then i realised in one special moment, i hadn't lost my Faith, iy had been with me all along. This is a seven Andrea and into my faves.
