Fair Weather Friends
It's very easy to be a friend- when nothing's going wrong
But when it does that's when some people- start singing a different song.
They make up fake excuses- or just outright lie
Which makes the one whose hurting- want to curl up and cry.
Some people then become hermits- as in their homes they stay.
Afraid to try friendship again- even keeping their feelings at bay
It's really quite a shame- that this happens all to frequently.
What's even worse is that from others despair and hardships- people find a sense of glee.
Some people cannot grasp the concept- of leaving well enough alone.
Filling their minds of malice- allowing their hearts to turn to stone
Whatever happened to forgiveness- or showing some sympathy
And if you've been in their shoes- where's your empathy?
When are people finally going to learn- that LIFE is way too short!
That their negativity and hatred- the need to abort!
You're only lying to yourself- if you think that from these things you can hide
And it's way too late to change yourself- once you've crossed over to the other side.
