Facing a Brand New Day

This morning, I renew my faith in man Whispering into the morn's early light, Waking to a new twenty-four hour span Shining into opened eyes, the sun bright, I am a man--forcefully proud, upright, Feel the heady rush of fresh optimism Escaping yesterday’s foul cynicism; Looking ahead to novel adventure No more reason for rampant skepticism, Will accept no hate-filled, angry censure. written June 2, 2021
