Faces In the Night
I see many faces appearing in the night
Societies outcast oblivious to perils
which accompany their plight
Dressed in dingy costumes, Masquerading as
Creatures weary of a painful life
Sleeping in desolate quarters
Oh what a hellish sight
I see familiar faces emerging from the dark
A talented musician unable to
Profit from his outmoded art
A woman of withered countenance knowing only
Sorrow and misery which encompass her heart
A wandering squatter
Deemed unfit by society to play a part
I have seen the faces that occupy the night
Hearing their voices their struggle
For an essential right
A chance to survive the cruel frigid night
For the homeless survival is an endless fight
