Notes About The Poem

Inspired by the reflections seen in the water droplets.

Faceless Reflection

Faceless reflection once fair as a flower
is all the eye can see
now ghostly hollow
we choked then swallowed
the darkness we can be

Daunted we are driven still
to find a defining face
forming familiarity’s found
to follow humanity’s trace

Through glassy eyes of tears like rain
our character lines have faded
Let our colors emerge
from our darkest hour
Let us not stay shaded!

Beautiful wisdom ~ I especially loved the ending. When our character lines fade, colours emerge and from our darkest hour we can step out of the shade :)

Thank you, I hadn’t realized the image didn’t load, probably makes more sense now. Thanks for the comment.

"This too shall pass," As long as this old world keeps spinning at some point the darkness will always be chased away by the light. Wonderful to see you writing again Jeannie.

It’s hard to find inspiration amongst ashes. It’s 100 degrees, the air is thick with soot and the sky is as orange as Trumps face. Now is the time, before we suffocate, for that magnificent spirited phoenix to rise, unless of course it too has been caged like a child at the border between realities. Good to hear from you Daniel. Like the picture? I didn’t see the reflections at first but once I did, I was inspired.

Thank you. I was inspired by the picture. We sometimes see reflections of ourselves in unexpected ways. Like it or not, we’re all in the picture.
