Notes About The Poem

I don't feel like I have ever faced monsters (as in people who are truly evil), so I went this route for the contest

Faced With Monsters

They came at us from nowhere
and gave us quite a fright.
I was with my sister
and it was late at night.

Their forms were all horrific.
One’s face was ugly green.
I got behind my sister
to avoid being seen.

They screeched or they cackled.
It was so menacing.
I knew not to fear
although it was unsettling

I heard a loud-pitched buzzing.
Saw a grotesque looking man.
With that chain saw at my back,
from the haunted house I ran.

When we are children, we get easily frightened by imaginary monsters or monsters we see in our dream especially after reading a horror story or watching a horror movie. An interesting poem.
