Notes About The Poem

you piss me off and today I get rid of the chaos

Face of Pain -

I find hope from a small ray of sunshine
It's my comfort from God through distress
I can rest with some peace for the moment
And know that each day I am doing my best

I find strength when the sun shines upon me
And with this strength comes a greater will to survive
And within the silence that always surrounds me
I know God's warm sun has helped keep me alive

I feel power that comes from this knowledge
And I know when I wake every morn
That God has played a big part in my healing
And his love has sheltered me from every storm

1985, the year my life and world changed. Twenty-two years old and I was fighting for my right to live. Being misdiagnosed with "rhomboid muscle strain,' and having to deal with a broken rib, in my upper back that was doing more damage. Being used as a guinea pig, and being ignored medically, because i wouldn't fit into their boxes, or categories, left me defeated. I never thought a simple broken rib could cause such destruction and losses.

I fought for my life and human rights. And God made me a Poet. Losing two pregnancies and any chances of ever having a family of my own, not having the time to mourn. One day God will take care of restitution....And this won't happen again to anyone....not on my watch.

As they say, "God prunes the greatest tree the most." Life is precious....still :)

I am reading your poems for the first time so, I don't know how long you have been on Poetry Soup. It seems you are blessed by God in your writing. I love the way you write. You are very talented. I am known as the Northfield poet. Your style of writing reminds me of my style. Your poems are easy to understand with the power of God flowing through the words.

You are very inspirational with your poems. Your strength shows through the poems I read on my email of featured poets. Sorry for your losses. In the last year, my life changed due to a car accident. Now with chronic pain, and can relate to your poems about God's help and using my mind to pretend my pain is separate from me and it will not defeat me. I see the courage of people much younger than myself who are ill or injured and yet they go on and deal with it. You are very talented.
