Fabric - Lace

Promises of passion,
my urgings unspoken,
a glamorous gossamer garb.
Sexy, sultry, shameless,
I'm luxurious lace:
enticing and ethereal.

Especially black lace which lends an air of romance to any woman who wears it! I loved your entry John! Congratulations on your placement! : )

Hi Connie. Interesting that you mention colours, because one of my draft lines concerned "shameless, shocking, scarlet" (but it had to go, unfortunately)! Thanks for your kind comments. All the best, John.

Wow John! This write is fantastic! I love this racy personification of lace... artistically provocative and beautifully expressed. Excellent and enjoyed. Good luck in the contest but already a winner with me!

Oh, I REALLY like this one, JOhn. I guess it's the woman in me. I go more for lace than for leather! But both are very sexy and I think this was your better choice in the contest as well.

Thanks, Andrea. Glad you liked it (and that I made the correct choice). Kind regards, John.

I don't think it matters for this personification of lace - a female poet IS not a piece of fabric any more than a male one :) And anyway, isn't that part of being a poet? One of the first thing they teach is the reader should never assume the "I" of the poem and the poet are the same.

Thanks, Agnes! Hopefully it doesn't matter that I'm a bloke and this is a female-PoV piece... we shall see. All the best, John.
