Eyes of the Phoenix
I wish to see through the eyes of a phoenix
For nothing is quite as it seems
Where tears of sadness doth reflect
The healing power of many a dream
I long to stare into the eyes of the phoenix
To find out just what makes her cry
And comfort her soul with a gentle embrace
Until the burning grief subsides
I hope to meet this mindful being
To study the myth inspiring awe
The elemental legend grieving
Majestic peace entrepreneur
Gracefully, I’ll stroke its head
And marvel at sweet mercy’s flight
While striving toward a similar end
Knowing the water fuels the light
Igniting flames from sparks anew
Two opposites will co-exist
Attracting faith from mountain dew
While feeding off each others gifts
I wish to make my home within
The healing heat of fiery core
Unscathed by heartbeats outside in
I’ll live untouched forever more
