Eyes of the Last Standing

Gone are the worries which led us to our knees,
Away, the strong wind blows across the back,
Too soon those with more to say, quietly fade away,
Now it has come down to the eyes of the last standing,
Here we stare at the back lit mirrors,
As though we are looking out an open window,
Calling our name, we respond sometime without a breath,
Toward reasons without wonder,wanting respect,
Looks into eyes of the last standing,
Where from now is the only reason,
The hand is full when open and reaching,
Only memories fill the minds,
Of the eyes of the last standing.
