Eyes

EYES Eyes Awake To the world What if no sight? Just an inner world No colors no blue sky No sweet beautiful women It could be construed a blessing Opinions alone on four senses Coloring everything with music

I can't even imagine a world without sight Daver. Helen Keller was an inspiration to many blind people. It's way cool the way you sense colors in music, kind of like vibrations of an aura. Best to you, Diane

Daver, one Mothers Day I actually did hear my mother's voice admiring my begonias. Other spooky events like that have occurred as well, but I believe her spirit remains with me. Thanks for reading the poem. Love, Carolyn

Good day, Daver. Was moved by your comments, thank you. This piece reminds me of "Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 21 - Andante". Would be rough to lose one's sense of sight. Finding colour, vision, through music could be "construed a blessing". Wishing the best to you and yours! Love, Mikki

You sure made me wonder, Daver! I honestly feel that of all the senses, I think losing the sense of sight would devastate me the most but as I read this, hmm maybe you are right and it could be a blessing :) -- and heehee now you got me singing Moon River too & Mr. Sandman-- love Moon river though and Audrey Hepburn could picture her singing that-- thank you -- :) hugs

Delighted to hear the surgery went well, Daver. Barracudas or "'cudas" have very sharp teeth and can rip you apart, but they don't have large stinging snouts. You may be thinking of swordfish. Love, Carolyn

When our sense of sight is deprived, Daver, people say we rely more on other senses -- like hearing for music. Still, it would be sad to wake up and not be able to enjoy the beauty of the world around us. Hope you cataract surgery went well! Let me know, okay? Love, Carolyn
