Exposing the Truth
Your blatant excuses float on the wind.
It really doesn't matter what you said.
I know you don't regret that you have sinned
For words can't fly if weighted down with dread.
Could you see deceit in the mirror when,
I looked at you and could not even see?
I wish it had been so much clearer then,
And I'd possessed the decency to flee.
I stayed with you much longer than I should.
Now, go, unfaithful schemes drift in the breeze
Had they let on you would have burned, undone.
This life's my own and this day I will seize.
