Existing At the Edge of Light

At the edge of light
Another world survives
A world of spirits and souls
Lost and wandering
Tortured
Reaching, grasping for anything
Held back by a past no longer theirs
They can see the light
Inches away
A million miles away
Impossible to tell
Distance and time have no meaning
They travel in nothing and everything
Nowhere and everywhere
Deep within never and throughout infinity
Everything is the same
Yet everything changes
Why has the universe forsaken them?
Where are the gods they prayed to?
There is no one to tell them
To answer the questions
So they wander
They wait
Just at the edge of light
