Evil Rising
Ever since creation, there have been voids
Ineffectual places for deviants to hide
In the beginning there were just a few of us
Milling around in the dark
Stumbling on our own uselessness
Bleeding from our palms and knees
As a result of our own incessant falling
Bound by our own nothingness
Compelled to feast on the fibers of life's fragility
Bloodless silence stolen by a gun ringing out
With a tenacious taste for destruction
No amount of turmoil quells
Rust to metal, cancer to cells
From the bottom we claw
At the uprising of earth's surface
Like rats drowning in a bucket of water
Fingernails breaking, tongues bitten off
A lingering mucus that breaks with a cough
Slipping around in the blood
We've created on the ground
Some lost souls need not be found
As time passes on and populations rise
The level of evils grow with it
Even down in the crevasses
Where sunlight don't hit
Emancipated by the struggles to get out
Some eventually die
And the ground just rises
Where the fallen lie
I hate to be the bearer
Of miserable facts
But when this evil emerges
On the backs of evil stacked
There is no putting it back
