Everybody Writes a Book

EVERYBODY WRITES A BOOK They write a script, A poem on quips, A paragraph, A typed last draft, He wrote a play, She wrote today, They wrote together, A score that's clever. It takes time, To write a rhyme, And jot down notes, With double quotes, Compose sublime, In double time, Move the dance, With old romance. The written condition, (It's my suspicion), Or one I took, That when I look, EVERYBODY, WRITES A BOOK. by Edlynn Nau © February 12, 2016

Here to do more than hit "like" this is so much fun. I am told each person has at least one book they could write. I'm working on number three. So far I have only had one published but I wish to improve on that. I appreciate your comment on my poem. Take care, Rick.

Thank you Rick! It was of course, tongue-in-cheek, but so often I've heard, "why do you write poetry when you could write a book"? Meaning they'd rather read a book. I like the brevity and encapsulization of poetry in a world that hardly reads unless it's under 250 words. Yikes! Did the Internet cause us to be illiterate? I'm very impressed about those who can write the books I STILL adore reading! Thanks for your visit!

Hello you! Nice to see you! I've been gone all month. I don't have a computer & write on my cell in Email. Someone hacked my mail and all my works on progress got whited out. 50 blank poems. Sigh! Thanks for the uplifting note!

So much truth to that poem. I guess all that's left to do is laugh at the poet's plight. My own kids and even some friends don't want to listen to my poetry. I really have to sit on them. I joined poetry soup and found like-minded people. It's a pleasure to be in such company. We enjoy what we do and can even laugh at ourselves so we have it all. Keep us laughing, friend.
