Every Time My Thoughts Return To Childhood

Every time my thoughts return to childhood, Images of her shimmer through my head. Thinking back to the days when we both would Go playing outside after we had read. Rainy days would keep us inside instead- Recess was never allowed on wet slides. As the sun came back out, we soon were led Outdoors; never leaving each other's sides. Now, she graces these lines, although she hides Deep within the structure of this rhyme- Search for where within these lines she resides; The answer then will be revealed in time. And, as the story now comes to an end, I dedicate this to my childhood friend. © 2019
