Every Second, Hour Forever

Though love is cut deep in stone forever, you will be with me till my closing sigh; such promise- your demise will not sever, so, I will not utter the word goodbye. Our first sweet kiss left this girl quite wondrous, oh, your deep strong voice- music for my soul; within me loud throbbing, drumming thundrous, I knew without you I could not be whole. So, I will hold our deep love evermore oh, I whispered this promise to your tomb; now, nightly the ink night skies- we explore, you exist in soft hues of twilight gloom. This love torments my every living hour oh, grief in the end- will my soul devour. ___________________________ August 26, 2020 Poetry/Sonnet/Every Second, Hour Forever Copyright Protected, ID 20-1281-487-03 All Rights Reserved, 2020, Constance La France Written for the Premier contest, "A" Lipogram sponsor, Emile Pinet Third Place

Congratulations Constance! Your poem has placed "Third" in my PoetrySoup contest. This was the hardest contest I’ve had to judge, the quality of the poems entered were outstanding, your poem was both sad and beautiful, you should be proud of your work. Very well done my friend, Emile.

Constance, your sonnet is so carefully crafted and speaks so poetically of the eternal nature of true love, even after death. Simultaneously heartrending and heartwarming. To do this all with the constraints of the lipogram is all the more impressive, I sense a strong case for a top win. Enjoyed reading your creative talent tonight. Blessings and hugs ~ John
