Every Day Is a Page
Every day is a page to write a new story
Until the mind’s ink runs dry from this life's last drink,
Or the librarian closes, shutters his doors
Because all mankind has forgotten how to think.
Challenge yourselves, I beseech friends, artists and poets,
And challenge the universe, or I fear twill be
The end of the era of well-written sonnets
Replaced by some theatrical technology.
Think ye not that all the best has been scribed, no!
Minds crave to learn and mediocre bars raise!
Every day is a page to write a new story
Until your soul's sunset punctuates the last phrase!
