Everlong
If I could write a book
It would be the greatest story ever told
Of a kind and loving grandfather
Who had a heart as pure as gold
But now I travel through the seas of tombstones
Graves of those once loved in times gone by,
A tear falls, my feelings become numb
Another loss of a dearly beloved one
I could write a million pages
Though I wouldn't be able to say,
Just how much I love and miss him,
Every single day
"Time heals all wounds, give it a while"
And for a while it helps
I forget about the past
And I keep the memories at bay
But reality comes and shows it's ugly face,
And it brings back all the pain once more
If you try to block it out
Nothing much will been gained
The curtain of death brings memories of happiness and sorrow
For their ghosts walking among the silent rows
They quietly lie underneath the sky,
As their loved ones mourn for the time going by.
