Eventually

Bathed in serene sunset She waits for me by the pier Peering at a pale blue sky Are we ever ready to leave home? Next to her feet is a single suitcase She looks at me with a sad smile Offering me a hand That I pretend to not see Her destiny is in the great blue And I can see the wistful look in her eyes As she looks to the horizon But she's attached to me as if I'm an anchor She should search the world For life, love, laughter, and light But eventually she'll see She left all of that here with me
