Evening Prayer

My soul desires true love’s embrace. Its sweetness soothes the bitter taste, prolonged by uncommitted arms, that dole me crumbs of passion's charms. I dream of life once blessed with bliss, a night romance with morning kiss. Yet now a heaviness of heart saw not his leaving at the start. Oh Father, bless my downcast soul, still seeking love while growing old. My days are colored cobalt blue. Send back this man with his love true. 8/10/2023 'Writing Souls' Poetry Contest Regina McIntosh, Sponsor
