Eternity

Past the stars
      we see
  on our way
A planet comes into
      view
   Don't let the darker 
angels of your nature
    Prevent you from 
               seeing it 
  Looming ahead 
 a reddish orb
    streaked with brown 
and black canals
     We are reaching out 
        to the universe! 
 Far from our home
     on Earth
A taste of eternity
     is ours
     Join with us  
           on this quest!
Let fear dissolve 
     into nothingness
Past clouds of astral 
     dust
Past the dimension 
     we once knew
New dawns with 
     green suns
await us
Yes, let's join together - 
  view wonders 
    As galaxies are born 
and die
   So must we we born and die
   But before the final bell
    tolls 
Let us brighten our 
     souls
taste the wine of 
     forever 
Dance on distant shores
    Let us learn 
about realities 
    Different than 
  anything our imagination 
can yet conceive

I revel in the way this poem made me appreciate the opportunity to "brighten our souls" and perceive the beauty on "distant shores." Very nicely done! And thanks for reading "Feline Survivor." I had one cat who lived for 22 years, but I still miss her. Katy died a year ago. It's so nice sharing with you, Carolyn
