eternal grief

I want nothing more than to rid you from my life,
but the cost of your absence is eternal grief -
a lifetime spent knowing
I will never love anyone else again.

A brief but piercing expression of love caught between the need for release and the fear of irrevocable loss. “The cost of your absence” carries the poem’s ache with stark, memorable force.❤️
