ETERNAL FLAMING LOVE…

 

The flames of a fire blaze

and flicker up and down

the line of their fuel;

 

In the furnace of my heart

love’s flames are flickering

forever upward—warmly;

 

The salty waters of hate

tease love’s flaming blaze

but are evaporated smokeless:-

 

Thus is love’s warming eternal grace;

for wherever the flames of love abide,

hate’s filthy waters are forever dammed.
