ESCAPISTS

Every dreamer born may an escapist become. When emotional survival is bad weather stifled fantasy arrival is vital as heart and head weapons that reckon with false hitting bits of regrets spittled resin. Escapists have naive need beliefs that seek relief lacking clues. Not intuitively glued, they flare prime illusions then meet blues intrusion. Rue immersions disburse layered bruises into their fantasy threads. Escapists do not pencil lists to assist their trips. Without practice or attending lessons, an escapist will maximize an ideal conception from foggy appeals and provide their own transportation to vaguely arrive in a bog. Soon dizzy from the tizzy of too little information, they’ll deny hearing reality’s jeering cry. Easier and freer to eat it all down for soon the bog ball will end and only they need to know the why in the what that they did.

Such a profound one. I love the unique phrases you come up with, internal rhymes and alliteration . You be down on those escapists. Haha

Escaping into fantasy does help ease the burden of real time drama, and sometimes the real life drama just makes it nearly impossible to dream of anything but the current trend of day to day survival, and that becomes distressful! I love your write. I haven't been able to be on site much, it's sort of the story of my life, but I love to be on here when I can :) I love my little escapes to Poetrysoup, and wish I could be on here daily reading and writing, it would be wonderful.

Very thoughtful and thought provoking. I believe, trying to see reality for what it is, can be very difficult, but it's the best policy - maybe excepting those very brief interludes where reality is just too much.

Sometimes life gets hard and escapism becomes the only way of survival. Brilliantly written poem, dearest friend. I hope you are doing well, I sent you a soupmail. Love, Anne

Interesting write! I guess we all have ways of coping. Our imaginations can help survival only if they are contained. Hugs

Dear CayCay, I love how you’ve framed fantasy as a "weapon" for survival when the emotional "weather" turns. I think there is a specific kind of weight in describing those illusions as something that eventually lands a person in a "bog," dizzy from a lack of actual information. Excellent Read! Blessings, Daniel
