Escape From the Real World
let me write you a song, girl
that i will never sing you
because I'm far too shy
and no, I won't write about the real world
because I've found that the real world
isn't pretty unless you lie
instead I'll sing about the slow twirls
that you and I make
as we dance across my mind
and I'll try to capture how my lips curl
as I try to remember the taste
from that last kiss goodbye
I can't imagine heaven, girl
being anything less
than the peace in your eyes
and I can cope with the real world
if every now and again
I can see you smile
my head has been constantly in that slow twirl
ever since I met you
and I don't know why
but now I long to see your lips curl
logging away the taste
of our next kiss goodbye
