Erudite

I miss the longing of our love
When it walked on babies legs
And you clung to me
Like I learned to cling to you
Before dreams of shattered teeth
Before my heart bore you to sleep
With falsely warm arms wrapped around my chest

Do You Love Me Anymore?

To nights sleepless in Berlin
And early morning sunrises
And the most pleasant surprise
That you hadn't left me after all
Now you don't even call
Even ask
So I fall apart
Unraveling far from your eyes
For now, to see me, they must beg and seek
My ego, shriveled back in its shell
I tried to warn you, Erudite

Loving a child never ends well.
