Eros Son of Venus

Oh, divine Eros, 

Son of Venus, 

Conqueror of hearts, 

Better it is for me your loyal subject to become

In your blissful dominion of love 

Than 

Arms against your sweet tyranny to take

For

My freedom to retain!
