Epilog To Island Hopping

ISLAND HOPPING
By
JOHN M. ARRIBAS
I’ll meet my old fellow travelers soon, any day
They may not recognize me now that I’m aged and gray
They are still young and vibrant, asking what did we miss?
Weddings, children, graduations an endless list
The chilling wind, snow on the lawn on a wintry day
Smelling the flowers, searching for eggs on a spring day
Sitting in the bleachers, lemonade on a sultry summer day
The plethora of colors of the leaves on an autumn day
You didn’t miss the events that were destined for you
Man’s continuing INSANITY stole them all from you
