Unique Elite swimmer brown, tailless, Pied-billed Grebes can float, dive or simply submerge graceful dark eyes cinnamon tone heard but not often seen rear end feet, lobed toes, poor flier gawky small bird solitary widespread, but rarely seen dramatic silent crash-diver decent patient near to nest bowl I hide in marsh water to capture still clear reflection I wait

Thank you for your kind visit dear poet. By your words I get you rarely visit countryside. Grebes are difficult to spot too, they hide well near water-plants, needs patience and of course a pond to watch them haha. you draw a gentle smile in your observations, thank you very much. Blessings.

Aw! thank you. thanks for looking up grebes. Did you know they could submerge till eye-level and paddle without raising ripples? am I a bit bird obsessed? Just Ornithophile? I wonder.
