Entire Texts Are Given To Me

Woke up with words to a poem
Fully formed,
Muse was whispering
 final line.
As my eyes popped open.
All but a wisp of this knowing
Disappeared in the ether
Before I could slap water on my face.
Almost totally gone,
Before coffee.
I have no doubt
Entire texts
Are given to me
By faeries, elves and muses
As I slumber.
I am feeling
So loved.
Thank you,
Spirit Guides.

I must confess that my best inspirations come when I'm in the shower - I guess that's where my muse hangs out. So I don't have to rely on those elusive dreams. Great write. PS perhaps you may like to read my poem 'Shadow Muse' At times she does get a bit playful ...Maria

Thank you, Silent One. I think poets hear a voice, and oftentimes it's one know without knowing how we know.

Thank you, Line. It came to me way after the final line, so I have no idea if it's the poem they gave me.

Thank you Arturo. I wonder if we DO retain them, just aren't aware?
