Enough

You are enough, You were born perfect, And then someone told you to try harder, You heard your shape was not the same as the others, Your skin is too fair, too dark, too freckled, too plain, You could be smarter, You make someone else feel dumb, Somewhere we forgot to wash our hands of this, And our hands soiled the rest of us, Until we began to swallow the filth without question, It is time to forget, It is time to remember, mistakes are learning in process you can be no one else but you, your uniqueness is what makes you special, there is nothing wrong with being special, the downs are there to emphasize how wonderful the ups are, and the in between is neither up nor down, When I say “You” I more often mean “I”. I was born perfect, I am enough.
