For long, I had enjoyed solving assorted puzzles, and difficult riddles, too, For they entertain and stimulate an eager mind, as myriad stars often do. From years of solving, I'd grown adept, as green river, that knows its way, Like a winter unfailingly melts into spring, chasing the fading blues away. In recollection, I'd say I was happy-still, life seemed devoid of excitement, Like the excitement of rare, purple blooms, appearing with no enticement. I followed the same dull routine each day, and it was all quite predictable, As fond gazes follow familiar paths of a rainbow, because it is irresistible! I'd somehow got it into my silly head, that I must be an intolerable bore, Like we mourn the wilted flowers, compared to the way they were before. But, the people who knew me well, certainly didn't seem to feel that way, And I don't know just what came over me, as night staring at a new day. I lived in the house of lovely emeralds, on a deep green, tree lined street, Which sparkled whenever the sun would shine, in the lavish summer suite. Happy near neighbors would greet me, with whimsical smiles, pearly white, Like the kind of radiant smile you get, as the moon calmly says goodnight. Wind was gusting, to lessen the heat, and blue magpies were on the wing, Green hills were passive, and sun cast no shadows, for noontime was king! The clouds went on a long journey, and wept copiously when it had to end, Like mysterious mayfly, living one forever in a day, gone as night descends. Then came the sunglow day of my epiphany, when I observed some trees, Standing stolidly still, and clinging to the earth, despite the willful breeze. As others raced madly about, they were content to sun and be themselves, And on my porch, I noticed other things, too, like the moon of no farewell. And millions of stars persistently shining, keeping to old, familiar positions, Yet, dancing, whirling and flashing in place, as if to some unseen musicians! Excitement to them is energy and light, an emotion different for everyone, Like the way things tend to look different, when viewed from sweet heaven. We each have our particular time to shine, on life's stage, in our own way, And we must be glad for our differences, as tomorrow differs from today. It is what makes daily life so interesting, for every one of us is an enigma, Like the amber sun, keeping all in its orbit, charmed by a golden charisma. Butterflies never ask if they may, and the bees do not beg anyone's pardon, Scarlet roses don't need to travel in space, for the universe is their garden!

What a magnificent self-portrait, plotted & pieced together like the puzzles you love. My mom worked at a bookshop in the ‘60s, where a man brought his own painted, hand cut, 500+ piece jigsaw puzzles that mom set out on our dinning room table, taking days & into the wee hours to do with each of us pausing to help as we passed. Just such a scene you have set out of yourself.thank you for your sharing, 4 bringing my memory!!
