Enigmatic Blue Premiere Contest Winner

Your essence pervades the depths unto the heights And sprinkles spring gardens with posies of remembrance. You grace the robes of the humble Virgin Yet fan majestic strutting pride. Without you a celestial promise would be incomplete And how you love to turn up unexpectedly; Startling star amidst golden corn, Mesmerizing monarch of shallow streams. Our feelings are tinted by you And you colour the windows of the soul. You course through veins of noble birth And daub the beggar's frozen skin. You are faithful and loyal, all-embracing, enigmatic blue. 06/01/19 Your Best Poem That Is Trophy Worthy (Premiere Contest Trophy) Contest 4 Poetry Contest : sponsored by Tania Kitchin 'Blue Poetry Contest' : sponsored by Craig Cornish '2019 Poetry Marathon Mile 27 Poetry Contest' : sponsored by Mark Toney 'Strength Thru Adversity Poetry Contest' : sponsored by Gregory Barden Contest 600,Any Free Verse ,Any Theme,Up To A Max Of 20 Lines Poetry Contest :sponsored by Brian Strand 'Best Free Verse 2019 Poetry Contest' : sponsored by John Hamilton

Thank you Heidi. An unexpected surprise!

Wendy, thanks for this, exactly where I was hoping you would go with the muse - somewhere unpredictable--there is something under/between this beyond different exceptions of blue or bluish. I also have some Welsh roots but mostly Plymouth County roots and I also was at first restricted by rhythm and rhyme but on occasion, when you get that 'A one & a two &" out of the mind, you're free to write as you have done so well here--it is your free poetic mind that is your gift.

Thank you,Jan. Not a patch on the lyricism and originality of the first three but I'm very happy that Craig saw something to appreciate in it.

Thank you so much,Carolyn. This was a pleasant surprise as I am not that good or experienced in the area of free verse as rhythm and rhyme is in my blood!

I was toying with entering this contest. I know I could not top this one at all, or even come near enough to touch its hem, but I might be able to get last place now.

That's kind of you Caren though I'm unsure how Craig will react to my riddles! Free verse is definitely not my forté but sometimes you need to step out of your comfort zone. You do far greater justice to this genre than you think!
