Endless Hug

What is a hug, but an embrace of sorts
between supporting entities that wish
to meld their energies and show the force
connection lends to further harmony.

Our Earth is hugged by arms of gravity
that compass its direction endlessly.
Without this hug, off into space, we'd drift;
but no- in Sun's embrace, we soundly stay.

In this enfolding gravity, Earth spins
beneath an atmosphere that's held in place-
with layered blankets of protection wrapped
and firmly hugged in Sun's galactic arms.

Eons of years ago, a star- our Sun
drew Earth into its hug- to cling as one.

Nice write Sandra, a very comforting feeling you have depicted by the forces of nature hugging the earth, congrats on placing this time!
