End of a Journey
END OF A JOURNEY
In a dim corner of the room I sleep
as I dream basking in my erstwhile clout
Engulfed with dust, stuck to my tiny bed
Rare are the days when I am taken out
Those halcyon times now a distant past
Would strut across the globe wide and afar
so warmly grasped by umpteen loyal fans
One of most eagerly sought after stars
With care I would mind all my P's and q's
In earnest for many hours in a row
as I rushed fast with my cap cast aside
Bare headed could glide about to and fro
Once halted midway in my track , betrayed
By ruthless winds on this earth's changing face
No longer fancied to be of much use
Was wrapped and shelved in a remote dark place
In peace I rest as restive thoughts implode
Once mighty now phased out by a keyboard
Now resubmitting for Your best rhyming poem -2 Contest
