Empty Words

Words
Syllables
And sentiments
……. Because they come from golden wrapped parcels slipping from your tongue
They glimmer and twirl into a breathless breeze
That sent a shiver down my spine
At first it was divine.
To hear your hopeful idealisms of a you and me together
A nonsensical romance
But time and time again
Away you’d Slither
Slippery serpent
Dazzling black diamond vermin
You discarded your scaly skin
Of who you were, and what you could have been
You bit me with your fangs of passion
Left me bitter and poisoned
