Empty As the Hourglass Shatters

for I am left empty as the hourglass shatters, my heart never matters- the rain pitter-patters. I cease to exist in the timepiece of yesterday’s grains. draining the days away, forever lost in lonely memories. I stacked sandbags against the river of your anguish, and the dam breaks with perpetual insignificance. my only desire was to bestow kindness, bring you the hope you so longingly hungered for. the sands of time have run out… the rain pitter-patters.
