Emma

I don’t know who she is, though we pass near every day
And, if I asked her for her name, I wonder what she’d say
Tomorrow…no, today. Yes… tomorrow is the day
When I’ll finally bump into her and ask her for her name
I’d better grab a latte while I think the words to say,
“Hello, my name is”…no… that’s probably not the way
The weather… yes, the weather. “It sure is a lovely day”
Standing in line behind me, I heard an angel suddenly say,
“Hi. Hey, don’t I know you? Yah, I see you every day”
“My name is Emma”. And… I don’t know what to say

Thank you for giving it a read. It is totally different than how I usually write...more of an inner dialogue, until "she" happens by.
